Master’s degree in purchasing – IAE Lyon school of management


I first discovered purchasing during an internship at an SME specialised in aluminium facades and frames, at the end of my DUT university diploma in administrative and sales management. I then did a degree in team management, with an option in quality, combining this with work at the SNCF, where I was able to manage the complete purchasing process, from the definition of requirements up until the signature of contracts. I joined COMAP as part of my master’s degree in production, logistics and purchasing, before specialising more specifically in purchasing during the second year.

My daily work at COMAP

At COMAP, I was in charge of the supplier database and I supported the three central buyers on general and administrative expenses and trading purchases (vehicle fleet, product handling material, office supplies, temping agencies, energy, telephone, waterproofing, tools …). I was also in charge of the REACH quality process, working with the quality team and I carried out monitoring for the purchasing department.

In what way your work at COMAP will contribute for your future career?

I developed a range of skills at COMAP, as I was able to apply the complete purchasing process in a wide range of areas. On each project, I was in contact with colleagues from other departments: IT, HR, finance, marketing, quality … I really appreciated this contact with other people, which always teaches me a lot. Since I stayed at COMAP for two years, I was able to take part in the renewal of major tenders, which was a useful addition to my CV.

What is your best memory of your internship? 

I really appreciated the purchasing seminars organised twice a year, with the participation of the whole purchasing team. It is great to be able to discuss with colleagues and spend time together outside a purely professional setting.
