Lyon - Purchasing Service
Master’s degree in International Business
After commercial studies, I decided to experience business situation, and I completed a work/study Bachelor's degree in Business Development Management as a Commercial Assistant at ALCYON, a veterinary products purchasing unit. There, I had the opportunity to work with the Purchasing department and our collaboration went so well that my decision was made: I want to be a Buyer.
Then, I continued with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management to strengthen my international practice and spent 4 months in Mexico as a Purchasing Assistant.
Currently, I am attending a Master’s degree in International Business (training in English) at Mbway in Lyon and I am a Junior Buyer at the COMAP headquarters.
My daily work at COMAP
As a Junior Purchaser, I manage a purchasing portfolio for overhead costs (temporary staff, motor fleet, travel, telecoms, handling equipment, etc.) and also handle the supplier database in the ERP system.
I provide support to the 3 central buyers for non-production and trading purchases. My objective is to coordinate purchasing between our French industrial sites and to prevent risks concerning the financial situation of our suppliers.
I also help to improve and develop purchasing management and control tools.
In what way your work at COMAP will contribute for your future career?
COMAP offers me the opportunity to take on new challenges.
I have to make strategic decisions and my colleagues trust me. What I particularly appreciate is the stimulating working environment that motivates me to get involved in the company. Finally, this position helps me to confirm my behavior as a Buyer.
What is your best memory of your internship?
I will remember the purchasing meetings with our colleagues from China and Italy. I have thus been able to observe that COMAP values are enforced internationally. Despite the distance, we found the same cohesion and team spirit that we had by mail and phone.
